Williams is located in Coconino County just west of Flagstaff between Seligman and Flagstaff along Interstate 40 near White Horse Lake.
The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 2,694, an increase of 162 since 1990.
Williams is situated within the Kaibab National Forest.
Nestled along historic Route 66, is the small, mountain community of Williams. Surrounded by the Kaibab National Forest, is the perfect place to stop over and visit. Williams offers brick textured sidewalks in the Historic District. The Historic District features shopping, dining and taking in the downtown entertainment (seasonal.)
The Williams Visitor Center is located on the corner of Railroad Ave. and Grand Canyon Blvd. and is jointly operated by the Williams-Grand Canyon Chamber of Commerce and the National Forest Service. The Visitor Center is staffed seven days a week from 8:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the summer and from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the fall, spring and winter.
