Florence Arizona

Florence is located in Pinal County, of which it is the county seat, northwest of Tucson between Globe and Casa Grande along Highway 89 near the Gila River and Picacho Reservoir.

Florence is part of the Phoenix-Mesa, Arizona metro area.

Colonel Levi Ruggles, an Indian agent, staked and founded the town in 1866. By the 1920's, the area had become the agricultural center of the county.

Florence offers the convenience and lifestyle of a small town, yet is only 45 minutes away from the Phoenix and Tucson metropolitan areas. Incorporated in 1908, Florence, at an elevation of 1,493 feet, has been the county seat since its formation in 1875.
